to Wilmington, Delaware, in the year 1925 and resided on Townsend Street in South Wilmington known at that time as Third Street Bridge.
Soon after moving to Wilmington, Thomas and Gertrude Gibbs, along with their four youngest children, became members of Mt. Joy M.E. Church. Lois Glennie

They are laid to rest
in Ridgley, Maryland. After overcoming many 
obstacles and after
much hard work. Gertrude became an
ordained minister and
later became assistant
pastor of Mt. Joy M.E.
Church under the
leadership of the late Rev. Russum. The Gibbs family moved from 
Ridgley, Maryland,
to Wilmington, Delaware, in the year
1925 and resided on Townsend Street in
South Wilmington known
at that time as Third
Street Bridge. Thomas & Gertrude were united in marriage on December 25, 1901.From this union 13 children were born. Eight of the 13 children were raised to be adults. They were as Follows: Glennie, Homer, Hilda, Florence, Esther, Anna, Lois & James. These offspring had a total of 24 children. Thomas Aaron Gibbs was born in Marydel, Maryland, on June 2, 1877.
Gertrude Murray was born in Queen Anne, Maryland on September 16, 1888.
